Fabric 2022: Kuponya
Date:
Location:
Fabric is an annual event put on by the first-year HMS/HSDM class during Preview Days for incoming students. It originally began as a cultural showcase to celebrate the African diaspora and highlight the experiences of black students. Over time it has evolved into a school-wide event in which everyone is invited to share a piece of themselves and come together to embrace the diversity of our community.
This year's theme Kuponya is the Swahili word for healing. Through art, the spoken word, dance, and traditional clothing, we hope you draw closer to the traditions that are familiar to you and find comfort and healing in new ones. Sit back, breathe in, breathe out: ni wakati wa kuponya. It is time to heal.
