Neurologist has long record of medical education service at HMS

Following an intensive national search, Harvard Medical School Dean George Q. Daley has announced that Bernard Chang will become the School’s next dean for medical education, effective July 31.

Christopher D. E. Willoughby, PhD, is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the History of Medicine at Pitzer College in Claremont, California. In 2016, he completed his PhD in history at Tulane University. He is the author of Masters of Health: Racial Science and Slavery in U.S. Medical Schools (University of North Carolina Press, 2022), and with Sean Morey Smith, he edited the book Medicine and Healing in the Age of Slavery (Louisiana State University Press, 2021).
