Individual Financial Consultation Program

Free financial planning sessions for graduating students offered by PIAM, in association with Baystate Financial.

Timeframe

Advisors will be available beginning April 1, 2024.

Appointments will take place over the phone or through video conferencing.

Session Descriptions

Students schedule two sessions to take advantage of this optional program:

Session One - via phone
The goal of the first session is discovery, fact-finding, goal and objective setting. PIAM will work with the individual student to identify their specific financial goals, both short-term and long-term, to establish financial priorities and to provide education on the basics of building a financial plan. The consultation can include financial strategies for repaying education debt, planning for a family, buying a home and/or saving for retirement. After the first session, the student will provide financial information s/he collects. The financial advisor will take this financial information plus what was discussed in Session One to prepare an initial plan for the student.

Session Two - via Zoom
During the second session, the plan will be presented to the student. It will include recommendations and strategies for the student to pursue based on all of the information provided.

Schedule & Prepare

*Schedule your financial planning appointment.

Note: Your HarvardKey login is needed to access the linked content.

The recommendation is to schedule your first appointment date just after you have completed steps one through four from the graduation checklist because you will have collected the most up-to-date information on your cumulative educational debt.

Important Note: These sessions are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. Students who do not schedule early may not have the opportunity to take advantage of this free service.
