Collect and Organize Your Debt
We want to help you manage your debt! We understand that keeping track of your debt can get complicated, so all students are required to input their debt in one place. The AAMC offers a free Medloans Organizer and Calculator (MLOC) to all medical students for this purpose.
Debt review process:
1. Collect Your Loan History
-
Identify the types of loans that you have borrowed at HMS and the loans you have borrowed prior to HMS. You may retrieve your loan history by logging into the following sites:
- HMS Financial Aid Portal Select the award year at the top of the page to find loans for every year you borrowed.
- Federal Student Aid to access all Federal Loans.
- Heartland ECSI to access all Harvard institutional loans.
- UAS Connect to access all HUECU loans.
- Contact your prior institution’s financial aid office if you are unsure whether you borrowed an institutional loan or a private loan.
- Record what the interest rates for each loan are and which are subsidized (no interest during deferment periods) and which are unsubsidized.
