FABRIC was created 23 years ago as part of the underrepresented minority revisit weekend. In its original form, FABRIC was a student-directed fashion show highlighting clothing inspired by the African diaspora.

Over the years, FABRIC has grown in size and notoriety but has stayed true to its mission of showcasing the multitude of experiences and cultures of our rich HMS & HSDM community. Staying true to its roots, this year's FABRIC is entitled "Kukubaliana," meaning to embrace each other in Swahili. The first live show since the pandemic began, this FABRIC showcase is particularly special--marking our coming together and embrace of each other as we weather uncertainty, blossom in moments of joy and hardship, and join together as one, once again, at last!
