Anatomical Gift Program

ALERT

COVID-19 UPDATE: The Office of Anatomical Gifts is currently working remotely until further notice. No body donations can be accepted during this timeframe of remote work. A new notice informing of accepting donors will be updated here when available.

In the meantime, paperwork for future donations can still be filled out and sent in. Submissions will be processed on a weekly basis.

The Anatomical Gift Program coordinates the donation of anatomical gifts. The study of the human body is an indispensable component of medical and dental education and research. Every year, HMS needs anatomical donations for the education of medical and dental students, postgraduate physicians, and students of related disciplines. Private donation is the only source of Harvard Medical School’s anatomical gifts. Any person of sound mind who is over 18 years of age can register to donate his/her body for education, research, and the advancement of medical and dental science or therapy (Chapter 113, §§ 7-14 of the General Laws of Massachusetts). There is no age limit for those who wish to donate. For more information on how to donate, please visit our webpage or contact us.
