Anatomical Gift Program

COVID-19 UPDATE: As of 2/11/2021, our donation program has re-opened. The Anatomical Gift Program will accept donors in a limited capacity with additional restrictions. We are following all local, federal and university safety guidelines regarding COVID-19.

Office personnel continue to work remotely, but are available 24 hours a day 7 days a week to answer any questions you may have regarding the death of a donor.

Please call the office 617-432-1735 and a representative will go through the donor qualification process with you. If a representative is not available, your call will be returned promptly.

Paperwork for future donations can still be filled out and sent in. All new registrations will be processed on a weekly basis.

The Anatomical Gift Program coordinates the donation of anatomical gifts. The study of the human body is an indispensable component of medical and dental education and research. Every year, HMS needs anatomical donations for the education of medical and dental students, postgraduate physicians, and students of related disciplines. Private donation is the only source of Harvard Medical School’s anatomical gifts. Any person of sound mind who is over 18 years of age can register to donate his/her body for education, research, and the advancement of medical and dental science or therapy (Chapter 113, §§ 7-14 of the General Laws of Massachusetts). There is no age limit for those who wish to donate. For more information on how to donate, please visit our webpage or contact us.
